Panasonic attented the world's leading biannual imaging fair, "Photokina 2014" last week. The fair is being held from September 16 to 21 at the Cologne Messe in Germany. In 3 areas of its booth - '4K', 'Photo' and 'Communication', Panasonic showed a wide-range of digital imaging products.


Next to a touch & try corner - where the features of digital cameras and camcorders could be tested - visitors also got informed of the benefits of LUMIX's 4K technologies by talks shows and photographers at the 4K-area.

A perfect opportunity for Panasonic to introduce its unique 4K technologies, features and broad portfolio of 4K products.


Beside an exposition of the wide-range of Panasonic's cameras, Evolta & eneloop-batteries, visitors could also ask questions to experienced Panasonic staff at the photo-area. Including a demonstration of the specific cameras and their features. The high autofocus and lens technologies were put in the spotlight in the LUMIX G corner.


Beside the benefits of Panasonic's new products, also the efforts to increase sales ahead of the upcoming Christmas Sales season were communicated. In turn, dealers could talk about business at the 'Professional Area'.

Press conference at Cologne Messe

One day before the fair started, Panasonic also organized a press conference at Cologne Messe. 265 imaging industry journalists and reporters from 18 countries around the world came to this conference.

The press conference began with a speech of Mr. Matsushita, the Managing Director of Panasonic Consumer Marketing Europe (PCME) who spoke about the importance of digital imaging sales to PCME's European business and new product innovations. Afterwards, Mr. Sugita, the Vice President of AVC Networks Company introduced the core technologies of the LUMIX and 4K as well as Panasonic's business strategy for digital imaging.

After all, Mr. Drawert, the Manager of Digital Imaging marketing at PCME, invited aerial photographer, Mr. Wolf to the stage as a guest speaker, who spoke about the unique features of the GH4 when shooting with a multicopter. Mr. Drawert himself also putted out the 3 zones – mirrorless system camera, high-end compact camera, and communication camera – and described the GM5, LX100, and CM1.
