Panasonic Energy Belgium nv (Tessenderlo) started with the production of Zinc/Carbon batteries in 1970. The production of alkaline batteries was started in the 80’s. Over the years the factory has grown to one of the world’s largest plants of alkaline batteries.

The development, production and packaging of alkaline batteries is our main activity. More than 400 employees are committed to produce alkaline batteries on a high technologically level. The focus on quality is clearly present.

At Panasonic Energy Belgium, motivated people are working with a driven interest for modern technology and chemistry. No challenge is big enough! Over the last 5 years consumption of energy decreased by 30%. A windmill was also installed which produces about 40% of the total consumption of electricity. Water consumption also decreased by 50%. For example, purified wastewater is recycled in the production process.
