To activate your battery, you should remove the tab a few minutes before installing the battery into your hearing aid. This allows the chemicals inside the battery to ‘breathe’, i.e. to let oxygen get to the zinc-mixture inside via the tiny holes in the bottom of the battery. For the best results, remove any cover from the hearing aid when you’re not using it (at night, for example). This allows fresh air into the battery - which will significantly benefit the battery life.
