What does the expiry date on my coin battery mean?

Expiry date indicates how long the battery will function properly according to industry standards. It depends on the battery type:

  • Zinc air: 2 years (after production)
  • Alkaline button: 3 years (after production)
  • Silver Oxide: 3 years (after production)
  • Lithium coin: 10 years (after production)
  • Lithium for camera: 7 years (after production)
  • Pin type lithium: no indication, but 2 years (after production) is the guideline

However, even within the expiry date, if the battery is stored at high temperatures or high humidity, the battery performance may be drastically reduced.
